gracias
This past week she began to take things out of boxes/containers/jars and hand them to me one at a time. I say "gracias" after taking each thing.
tap dancer?
She found the box of outlet covers and proceeded to have a ball playing with them. She put them in her hands and crawled around, with them making a tapping sound like a tap dancer. She enjoyed that!

bath success
Well Senorita took a bath in the big bathtub tonight. The other night when brother was bathing, I put her feet in the tub and she splashed a bit. And this past week in her little tub she's been looking for water to splash about in. Since I took away the sponge in her tub she seems to have been looking for it, turning around completely in her little tub. So tonight when she crawled all the way from the living room to the bathroom inside the bedroom where I usually bathe her on the counter and she went right by the counter to the big tub and stood up, I figured it was time to try again. Well she loved it; she slid around and crawled and had a rip roaring time.
I have to try & upload the photos. We uninstalled the horrible kodak software (because it kept crashing the computer) and I don't know how to upload otherwise. We're going to look at it tonight and hopefully I can put a picture on here.
She's starting to crinkle up her nose when she smiles. I haven't gotten a picture of that yet and figure it's almost impossible to do so. But it's sooooo cute.

10 months old
Tomorrow, senorita will be 10 months old. My goodness. She is crawling around very quickly and determined to get to where she wants to be. She pulls up very nicely and can push the little walker toy on her knees... well, she did it once or twice. She loves cd's, magnet letters, cabinets with dishes and towels still. She eats tofu, pasta shells, veg. sliced turkey, and cheerios & (soy) milk. Sometime she wants to self feed and other times she wants to be fed. So I give her a mixture of baby food and chunky things to pick up. Today she gnawed on a piece of asparagus.
She's generally sleeping through the night until 4am or so. She'll get milk from me and then back to sleep until 6 or 6:30ish. That's how it's been the past couple of months. She has her two bottom teeth only (and I'm hoping no more until after she's stopped nursing). She loves her baby einstein tape (which I only play in Spanish) with the baby movements. She sits & smiles at it. I don't let her watch too much TV during the day.
In the picture above, she had a lovely time sitting on the counter while Baba was getting ready for work. She enjoyed the mirror immensely.

outside
Today T was determined to go outside. We put up a new gazebo on the patio so I had the door open to let some air in (with the screen from the gazebo by the door). She enthusiastically crawled to the door to go out on the patio. I picked her up and she wailed. She ended up making it outside and discovering that crawling on concrete kinda hurts so she had one knee up kind of crawling... but she didn't seem fazed by the pain of that at all. She cried when I picked her up eventually. I did put some jeans on her finally, to protect her legs so she was happy with that. However, she also wanted to go to the grass, just outside the realm of the patio. She eventually did that too as we made sure to steer her away from the ant pile.
Her big entertainments these days are pulling out the computer cd's; pulling down the dvd's; playing with the magnet letters for the dishwasher/fridge; and taking out hand-me-down clothes from a basket. These 4 activities will entertain for a good bit of time.
I try to give her some food that we eat with our meals instead of just baby food since she tries to grab the spoon and wants to feed herself. Yesterday I made oatmeal patties and she ate it up without a second thought. She eats tofu and she loves to suck on corn on the cob that's been eaten off already (she doesn't do as well with the kernels on). Each day she is quite a mess after eating toast, strawberries, spaghetti. I've begun to put a sheet of newspaper under her chair by the table to make clean-up easier.

big girl bath!
Senorita didn't like the big bath tub! Tonight I tried to put her in the bathtub. She's been bathed in the little infant tub with a large bear shaped sponge in it for her to sit on,on the bathroom counter, since birth. She holds her toothbrush and enjoys it mostly. Since she's nine months old I, at the urging of Muggy (grandma), decided to try the real bathtub filled with some water. Well I filled it with a bit of water, put in her sponge for her to sit on and tried to put her in. I had my camera ready for a photo of her first "big girl bath" but it didn't work at all. She cried and tried to stand up. I tried twice and then pulled the little tub inside the big tub and put her in that. But even that freaked her out so she got her bath on the counter. I'll try again at another time. Here's a picture of her in her counter-top bath. We've since lost that toothbrush she's holding and she has another one now.
